In 1928, Vic Damone was born. Chick Corea was born in 1941 as were Roy Harper and Reg Presley of The Troggs. Harold Cowart of John Fred And His Playboy Band was born in 1944 and Barry Bailey of Atlanta Rhythm Section in 1948. Brad Delp of Boston and Bun E Carlos of Cheap Trick were born in 1951, Pete Fardon of The Pretenders in 1952, Rocky Burnette in 1953 and John Linnell of They Might Be Giants in 1959. And Robyn Carlsson was born in 1979.

In 1964, in Adelaide, Australia, The Beatles arrived at the airport and an estimated 250,000 fans lined the streets from the airport to the city center 10 miles away to welcome them.

In 1965, The Beatles were on the Queen's honors list to receive the MBE. "Back In My Arms Again" by The Supremes was number one on the US' singles chart. The Who made an appearance at The Town Hall, Dudley in Birmingham, England.

In 1966, The Dave Clark Five made their 12th appearance on the Ed Sullivan show.

In 1971, Honey Cone, a black girl trio, was number one on the US' singles chart with their song "Want Ads".

In 1972, The Sound Broadcasting Act was passed in the UK. This allowed for 21 new commercial radio stations to be created.

In 1976, The Wurzels' "Combine Harvester" was their only number one hit in the UK. At the Swansea City Football Club in Swansea, Wales, The Who, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Little Feat, Outlaws and Streetwalkers made appearances.

In 1978, live performances in the UK were made by Dire Straits at Erics in Liverpool, The Thompson Twins at The Limit in Sheffield and The Jam at King George's Hall in Blackburn.

In 1979, The Police, with supporting band The Cramps, made an appearance at The Locarno in Bristol, England.

In 1982, at a rally for nuclear disarmament in Central Park, New York, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt and Gary "US" Bonds made appearances for over 450,000 fans. Adam Ant's "Goody Two Shoes" was number one on the UK's singles chart.

In 1989, The Elvis Presley Autoland Museum, which held over 20 cars Presley owned, opened at Graceland.

In 1990, David Bowie made an appearance at Deer Creek in Indianapolis, Ind. as part of his North American tour.

In 1991, Crowded House performed their first of two nights at The Borderline in London, England.

In 1993, 2 Unlimited was number one on the UK's album chart with their album
No Limits. UB40's song "(I Can't Help) Falling in Love With You" was their third number one hit on the UK's singles chart.

In 1999, Oasis was reported as having paid Gary Glitter $340,000 in an out-of-court settlement after being accused of using a portion of Glitter's lyrics in their song "Hello".

In 2000, Sinead O'Connor, mother of two, said she was a lesbian.

In 2002, Clive Calder sold his record company to BMG Music for $2 billion.

In 2004, Lee Ryan of Blue was found guilty of criminal damage and had to pay $850 compensation because of an incident outside of the 10 rooms nightclub in London, England.

In 2005, Pink Floyd said they would reunite with former member Roger Waters for a London concert.

In 2006, because of his "visionary" use of the Internet, Prince received the Webby Lifetime Achievement Award.

And in 2008, Amy Winehouse performed at an art gallery in Moscow, Russia.
